Tercos
Tercos winery is owned by brothers Pedro and Patricio Santos, the
sons of pioneering Argentine winemaker Ricardo Santos. In addition
to making three friendly,
excellent value red table wines,
Patricio and Pedro recently added a white wine to their growing
portfolio of Argentine classics:
NEW Torrontés 2009
This characteristic white grape makes a dry and refreshing wine
with flavors of grapefruit, peach, apple, melon and pineapple.
Malbec
2007
Ricardo Santos was the original exporter of this varietal, which
has become Argentina’s signature wine. Tercos Malbec has great
volume and depth with a long finish.
Bonarda 2007
After Malbec, Bonarda is the most planted grape variety in Argentina.
This wine is unoaked, vibrant and full of fresh red fruits.
Sangiovese 2008
Italian immigrants introduced Sangiovese to Argentina. This Sangiovese
has a good balance between fruit and acidity, making it ideal for
Italian food featuring tomato sauces.

Online reviewers are singing the praises of Global Vineyard
wines this summer. From Steve Tanzer's Wineophilia to CheapWineRatings,
there's something for everyone.
* Steve Tanzer crowed about the new Calcu 2010 Dry
Rose in Winophilia,
calling it “a racy, refreshing personality with real
depth of flavor. It will also be highly adaptable at the table,
but is quite satisfying all by itself as well.”
* Wine reviewer Tim Lemke at CheapWineRatings.com
describes the William Cole 2009 Albamar Chardonnay
as “exactly
what I want from a chardonnay ... For a mere $11.00 suggested
retail price, this is an outstanding chardonnay.”
* Tribune Newspapers columnist David
Dickson calls the Apaltagua 2009 Reserva Pinot
Noir “vibrant” and “impressive.”
On another note, The New York Times chose
to include Apaltagua 2009 Reserva Chardonnay in
its coveted Wine Club. Photos of the Chardonnay were featured
on a full-page ad in the Wednesday “Dining” section
in late July.
